Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody stretchered off after leg injury in overtime against Dallas Mavericks

Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering a lower leg injury during overtime of the team's game against the Dallas Mavericks on March 23, 2026, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The injury occurred as Moody, playing his first game since a right wrist sprain, stole the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg and went up for a dunk uncontested. His knee buckled on landing, and he fell to the floor in pain. Medical personnel attended to him for several minutes before he was removed.

Moody had scored 23 points, the team high, with three steals before exiting. The Warriors won 137-131.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Moody was undergoing X-rays at the arena. "Just saw his leg buckle. Saw him go down in a heap, in pain," Kerr told reporters. "We don’t know what it is, but it sure looked bad. Just hoping for the best."

Kerr praised Moody's performance: "Mo is such a great human being, great teammate, wonderful guy to coach. Puts in the work every day. And was brilliant, by the way. Played so well defensively, changed the game for us with his ball pressure and knocked down big shots."

Teammate Brandin Podziemski said the injury was tough to watch. "You just hate to see it, especially to the good people in life," Podziemski said.

Moses Moody, 23, plays shooting guard/small forward for the Warriors after being selected 14th overall in the 2021 NBA draft.[1]

The American Airlines Center has been the Mavericks' home arena since 2001.[2]

Steve Kerr has been head coach of the Warriors since 2014.[3]

Brandin Podziemski is a guard for the Warriors, selected 19th overall in the 2023 NBA draft.[4]
